Pottery

I began my studies of pottery making at the Columbia Art League in 1973. During that time, I took classes at the MSA Craft Studio at the University of Missouri and went on to teach my own classes there for ten years.

Prior to teaching at the University of Missouri, I studied at Stephens College with Lori Sargent, Ralph Komovies, and Sue Lueger.

As I’ve perfected my craft, I have studied with several other potters, and they have all had some gems of wisdom to share. All of the knowledge I’ve gained has led me to where I am today – the proud owner and creative mind behind Wolf’s Point Studio.

plants

I have always had a love for growing plants. This passion has evolved over the years, and now some of the plants I grow are used to make impressions in my clay pottery.

While I enjoy growing perennials and landscaping plants, a majority of the plants I grow these days tend to be succulents, as I have developed a deep love for them and their great diversity and beautiful blooms. They have a tenacity for life that is inspiring to my creativity.

You can find a selection of Wolf’s Point Studio plants for sale at the Columbia Farmer’s Market.

jewelry

When I was a child, my grandmother saved her broken strands of beads for me to string for her. I enjoyed being useful and loved the feeling of creating something new.

When I started to wear earrings, I had a desire to wear gemstones but had a difficult time finding them. When I did find a pair, they seemed to fall apart right away. I said to myself, “I can do better than this!” This sparked my journey of learning how to make jewelry. Now, I craft unique jewelry creations alongside pottery in my home studio.
